Champions for the Community
"Taking time to share skills within the community"?
Business
Champions for the Community offers a link between the skills and resources of
the private sector and the needs and aspirations of voluntary and community
groups. The group encompasses a wealth of talented, local business people
including architects, solicitors, accountants, builders, printers and others.
They share a vision of economic growth and social renewal and are committed to
using their time and expertise.
For business
partners:
- Becoming involved in the local community is an
effective way of implementing change.
- It gives you a voice within your community.
- Lets you play an active role in decisions that
will benefit both your business and the people it serves.
- It also gives you the opportunity to raise your
corporate profile and creates business and marketing opportunities.
There are
many ways to become involved whether it’s being on the end of the phone to
give advice or support, offer resources such as business planning, spare
equipment and resources or becoming actively involved and attending our
meetings.

City Growth
"Turning pride into prosperity"
City Growth
is a successful private sector-led economic development model the Partnership
delivered in Portsmouth. It focuses on the competitive advantage of an area and
aims to build sustainable business success in order to create jobs and wealth.
In Portsmouth, this has been achieved in collaboration with the city council
and the enagagement of over 100 local companies.
These local
businesses have instigated and led a number of action groups to encourage and
promote a successful business environment and city. These priorities are
contained in the City Growth Action Grid and have led to the creation of a City
Image toolkit.
The success
of the city region is important to the Partnership. Many companies join our
organisation to make the area a better place to do business to benefit
everyone.
