Pop-Up Shops

The Pop-Up shops are a new and innovative space in Portsmouth City Centre. Once derelict and dirty spaces in line for demolition, this row of shops on Commercial Road/Market Way were run down and portraying Portsmouth negatively. In a bid to regenerate the city under our City Growth initiative, we took the project to refurbish the plots and revolutionise their function.

 The Bionic Engineers – workers recruited through our Youth Employment Plan – set about refurbishing the shops. They are now clean, unique and prosperous places that are available to be used by anyone. They are a modern and useful space for local people to enjoy and really give Portsmouth something to be proud of!
