The Objectives

To develop the capacities and skills of socially and economically excluded and disadvantaged groups and individuals within Portsmouth and South East Hampshire (the "area of benefit") so that that they are better able to identify, help meet their needs and participate more fully in society.
To promote for the public benefit urban regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation in the area of benefit, in particular the local authority areas of Portsmouth, Havant, Gosport and Fareham.

The charitable projects from the Portsmouth and South East Hampshire Partnership have been transferred under our charity 'The Partnership Foundation'

The major project is 'Business Champions for the Community' led by and championed by George Brittain General Manager of The News. The project was launched at the prestigious Lakeside North Harbour on the 20th of May 2008.

The Business Champions have taken over from the long running Partnership Business Initiative.

'Business Champions for the Community' works with skilled local professionals and businesses who want to give something back to their local area.

We match individuals with community and voluntary groups who need some help and expertise to grow and develop. This initiative is about bringing people together for the benefit of our whole community.

Local building firm in Havant supported the refurbishment of the Information Centre at the Pride of Place project in Leigh Park
Two separate Commercial Agents and an accountant supported The Friendship Centre
Architects helped to design a new seating area for a snack bar for Hayling Island Community Association
Solicitor helped with the new lease on Buckland Community Centre and accountant helped with business planning
Architect and Quantity Surveyor supported Gosport Voluntary Action with inital plans for their new building
Local designer completely redesigned the marketing for the CP Group - A Charity that supports people with disabilities & their families
Local large business ran management workshops for local voluntary and community groups
Local business supported Portsmouth Council for Community Service with HR support and now sits on the board of trustees
